Euro Demolition & Dismantling were appointed to carry out multiple works at the aerosol factory at Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales. Works included the removal of asbestos, concrete asbestos sheeting, soft stripping of amenities and controlled deconstruction of a 334,741 square foot factory building and additional office block.
The site was situated on a main through road used by local residents as a route into town and local schools, with neighbouring houses and retail outlets.
The buildings were demolished using traditional methods with the use of a high reach demolition excavator. Once at ground level, all recoverable metals were graded and sized and subsequently delivered to the local steel mills to be utilised in their day-to-day processes. Waste streams were sorted, graded and supplied to our accredited recycling partner. The project was strategically planned and carried out with due regard to the neighbouring houses and local retail outlets. Phase two of this project has since been awarded to Euro Demolition & Dismantling.
